On March 15, Greenwave hosted another Newcomers Essentials Event at Latina Lujiazui, bringing together newcomers, expats, community partners, and friends for a relaxed and engaging morning. It was a warm gathering filled with practical information, genuine conversations, and new connections.

For many people new to the city, settling into Shanghai is not only about finding an apartment or downloading the right apps — it is also about knowing where to ask, who to trust, and how to make daily life feel a little easier. That was exactly the spirit of this event.

The event opened with a friendly welcome from Greenwave, followed by introductions from our partners and sponsors. From there, the morning naturally moved into conversations around everyday essentials — life in Shanghai, healthcare, insurance, language learning, mobility, local services, and ways to build a healthier and more comfortable routine in the city.

What made the event meaningful was not only the information shared, but the way it was shared: face to face, conversation by conversation, in a setting that made people feel welcome rather than overwhelmed. Guests were able to ask questions directly, exchange experiences, and pick up the kind of small but useful advice that often makes the biggest difference.

As always, food helped bring people together. Latina’s warm setting and generous buffet created the kind of atmosphere where conversations could continue naturally — over coffee, over a plate of food, and sometimes over a lucky draw moment too.
