A very exceptional year is coming to an end, and it is time to say “Thank you”, with Thanksgiving celebration right around the corner!
This event might be American born, but it is also the source of festivities all over the world.
Its origin comes from English traditions, as a way of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and surviving catastrophes, but is more famous for its Pilgrim days in the United States, celebrating the successful arrivals of the Pilgrims and Puritans on the American continent.
A Well Liked Tradition
Popular traditions for this holiday are widely expressed through this celebration. The most common and famous ones are food-related, with families enjoying a special Thanksgiving dinner, including turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and pies for dessert.
One of the other important parts of the celebration is to give thanks, and therefore to be full of positive energy!
Although it may be hard to achieve naturally in the busy environment of a Chinese megalopolis such as Shanghai, Beijing or Guangzhou, those cities abound with fun activities that can help you relax and take some steps back, to be more alert and thankful for the past successes and events.
